NOC – Sports Medicine Course for Doctors

The NOC Medical Committee in collaboration with the Department of Sports Development, Ministry of Sports conducted a Sports Medicine Course for Doctors on Saturday the 26th September 2009, at the Olympic House.
130 Doctors attended this course and the aim of this course is to emphasize the Principles of Sports Medicine needed for aspiring doctors, to serve the medical needs of athletes in Schools, Clubs, Sports Federations and National Pools.
The Lecturers were doctors from the NOC Medical Committee and Consultants of the NOC Medical Expert Advisory Panel, and included well recognized University Lecturers in Sports Medicine such as Prof. Rohan Jayasekara, Dr. Lalith Wijayaratne, Dr. Narendra Pinto, Dr. C.Thurairaja, Dr. H.J. Suraweera, Dr. Aranjan Karunanayake, Dr. Asela Ratnayake and Dr. Seevali Jayawickrame.
