Olympic Silver Medal to Susanthika

Consequent to the reports in the News Papers with regard to Marion Jones’s case Sri Lanka National Olympic Committee has now been informed by the International Olympic Committee that the Silver Medal has been awarded to Susanthika Jayasinghe for the 200 Meters Women’s Race at the Sydney Olympic Games in 2000. The NOC has been requested to return the bronze medal awarded to Sri Lanka to the IOC. This will be replaced by the Silver Medal in due course.
