Official Visit of 2014 Incheon Asian Games Delegation to Sri Lanka

A delegation from 2014 Incheon Asian Games visited in Sri Lanka from 22nd to 24th March 2010.

The delegation comprised of five persons who included Dr. Yun-Taek Lee, President of Incheon Asian Games Organizing Committee, Mr. Yong-Suk Shin, Vice President of Olympic Council of Asia, Ms. Hyun Jung Lee, OCA Coordinator, Mr. Sang Bum Lee, Director of International Relations Department of IAGOC and Ms. Byung-Jin YU, Manager of International Relations Department of IAGOC.

They met Hon. Rathnasiri Wickramanayake, Prime Minister of Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Hon. Gamini Lokuge, Minister of Sports & Public Recreation and Mr. Hemasiri Fernando, President of National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka with H.E. Choi Ki Chul, Ambassador of Republic of Korea in Colombo.

A Press Conference was successfully held at NOC Auditorium to introduce the 2014 Incheon Asian Games to Sri Lankan Press. There were about 40 media personnel and they asked various questions regarding 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, Korea. Mr. Yong Suk Shin answered all the questions and stated that IAGOC hopes to present to Asia a mega Games festival in 2014 and give their support fully for sport development in Sri Lanka as in the past.

Mr. Hemasiri Fernando happily announced that the Government of Korea has decided to increase their grants allocated for development of sport in Sri Lanka. He also wished that IAGOC all their efforts taken for the success of 2014 Incheon Asian Games become a reality.
