IOC-NOC Sports Medicine Course 2010
It was with pride that the NOC Organizing Committee comprising of Doctors and NOC Staff have got together and shown tremendous enthusiasm to make this course different and successful. Doctors were made aware of the latest trends in sports medicine through this course.
We got the opportunity to conduct 02 satellite courses to cater to a crying need in Sri Lanka, for an Anti Doping Course for Doctors and Training Principles in Exercise for Fitness Trainers .These were also concluded successfully.
We are also particularly fortunate that the course faculty will consist of 02 foreign expert lecturers in Sports Medicine Dr.M.Jegathesan and Prof. Dr.Jaspal Sandhu along with our local faculty of sports medicine lecturers who are actively involved in sports medicine teaching who have also been involved in FIMS and AFSM Team physician Courses both locally and abroad.
All participants had a unique learning experience and earned International Certification and Postgraduate CME credits.
The main goal of this course was to educate as many doctors to practice the principles of sports medicine safely, and serve the community as a whole, and thereby produce a healthier and fitter nation, and finally produce a rand of elite sports persons and athletes who will become world champions and bring back Olympic Golds, to our country.
