The Technical Handbooks for all disciplines have been prepared and sent to the respective Asian Federations for approval. The Asian Federations have also been requested to appoint the Technical Delegates for the conduct of the Games.

The Entry Form Manuals have been prepared and will be sent to all Asian Federations.

The deadline for receipt of Entries by umber for all Sports is 13th June 2011

The deadline for receipt of Entries by Name is 8th August 2011.  Online Entries can be sent before 15th August 2011.

The various Sub Committees, especially Venue Construction, Accommodation and Transport have already started work to a comprehensive plan.

Accession by Sri Lanka to the International Convention against Doping in Sport

On 9 March 2011, Sri Lanka deposited with the Director General its instrument of accession to the International Convention against Doping in Sport.

In accordance with Article 37, the Convention will enter into force with respect to Sri Lanka on the first day of the month following the expiration of a period of one month after the date of deposit of this instrument of accession, that is to say on 1 May, 2011.

Sports Administration and Management Course, Bindunuwewa

NOC Sri Lanka embarked on an important Olympic Education programme of imparting knowledge of Olympism to Physical Education Teachers in the Teachers’ Training College at Bindunuwewa in Uva Province of Sri Lanka which was a brain child of the President, NOC Sri Lanka, Mr. Hemasiri Fernando.

These teachers will be posted to various schools in the country who in turn will educate and impart their knowledge on Olympism and its value to students across the country. The first session of this programme is held from 9th to 11th March 2011 and the first batch of 60 teachers is been trained now. The resource personnel of this programme are Mr. Hemasiri Fernando, President of NOC Sri Lanka, Mr. Maxwell de Silva, Secretary General of NOC Sri Lanka, Mr. B.L.H. Perera, Director of NOC SL Academic Programmes, Group Captain Nalin de Silva, Facilitator of Sports Administration Course and Dr. Asela Ratnayake, Member of NOC SL Medical Committee.

It is intended carrying out in training 240 teachers per annum and at the moment in this class, NOC Sri Lanka got a batch of 60 Teachers (app.70% females which is encouraging).
