National Olympic Academy Sessions - 2005
I am deeply grateful for the positive response shown by you
towards the fourth
National Olympic Academy scheduled to be organized by the National
Olympic committee of the Sri Lanka in Bandarawela. The arrangements
for holding these Sessions have now been completed and I would wish
to set down below certain guidelines for the use of the delegations
from your university.
Date and Place.
The Annual Olympic Academy Sessions will be held on 21st ,22nd
,& 23rd November 2006 at the Ceylon Tourist Board Holiday Complex,
Bandarawela
Arrival.
All delegates to the sessions are expected
to arrive at the complex on 20th NOVEMBER 2006.Instructions
to get to the complex are given below. However ,If you feel some
assistance would be needed please let us know either by fax
(No.011-2471066) or telephone (No.011-2471067-68) the exact time of
your arrival in Bandarawela on the 20th .We shall endeavor to meet
you and take you to the complex. If you are coming either by bus or
by train, Please get to the Bandarawela Post office which is very
close to the main junction .We shall meet you there at the appointed
time.
If however ,you wish to get to the complex on your own, from
Bandarawela junction proceed along the Welimada Road for about a
mile, up to the Golf Links Road, turn into this road proceed along
Golf Links for about 1Km and take the road to the left which lead
you to the Ceylon Tourist Board Holiday Complex. The address is as
follows:

Accreditation.
It is advised that all participants arrive at the complex by
6.00p.m. the latest on 20th NOVEMBER 2006.As soon as you arrive at
the complex, you will have to call over at the office of NOC
situated at the entrance to the complex and get your self
accredited. No one will be allowed to enter premises or lecture hall
without this Accreditation card.
Accommodation.
Food and accommodation will be provided to the all participants.
Pillows and bed linen will also be provided
Participation.
Attendance of lectures is compulsory. Participants should take
their seats in the lecture hall at least 10minutes prior to the time
indicated in the programme. Certificates will be given, only those
who attended sessions100% (This will be applicable to supervisors as
well).
Cultural Items.
Each Group will be expected to give a cultural item (a dance
,songs, mime or similar items). It is therefore advised to bring
along any musical instruments that would be required together with
any costumes or paraphernalia needed to make such item more
colorful.
Physical Training.
Each morning there will be a short session of physical training.
It is advised that all participants come prepared with suitable
attire to participate in such activities.
Language.
All lecturers will be conducted in English.
Field Trip.
All participants will be taken on a field trip to a place
nearby.
Discipline.
It will be the responsibility of the leaders of the delegations
to maintain a high standard of discipline at all items. Movements of
participants will be under strict supervision and permission of the
authorities will be necessary to leave the premises.
Out Pocket Allowance.
Each participant will be paid an allowance of Rs.1000/- to meet
his/her traveling other incidental expenses.
Gifts.
We are contemplating to give each participants some memorabilia
with the assistance of sponsors
